Hello Everyone.
I hope you are all enjoying the sun and had a nice break during the half term. As from this week, all the after school club is back (Except this Monday) and all the classes will be back to normal schedule.
Here is what is coming up this week.
SENIOR GRADING : Wednesday 27th JUNE
This month will welcome our 2nd grading of the year, as the Wednesday 27th June is our adult grading at the Nottingham dojo. All the classes will turn to test practice from next week. This is the opportunity for everyone to focus on their syllabus and time to get down to the hard grafting practice for the grading. If you have “uke” ( partner) this is your responsibility to find one so make sure you ask them well in advance for the grading. If you have any questions regarding the grading please let me know.
JUNIOR JIYUWAZA LEAGUE
This month we are bringing back the Junior jiyuwaza league for the High grade juniors ( This is only applicable to students who come to the high grade junior class only!)
This month’s technique is “go-waza”. Everyone will be matched up against each other to decide the winner of the month. Same as last time, we will be awarding a “Gold”. “Silver” and “Purple” badge for the top 3 finishes, and also the points from the last league match in March will be carried over to overall ranking for the juniors as well. So everyone make sure you don’t miss the chance to make the most of this fantastic, and exciting month.
JOE THAMBU SHIHAN DVD (Perfect tool for your grading homework!!)
This is a must have copy for any Beginners to intermediate level Aikidoka and for anyone who wants visual reference to Daiichi Kihon ( 1st Level Basic Foundation techiniques) Each techniques are covered with good clear explanation with tips, slow motion videos and mutiplay. The DVD is a limited edition and revised edition for latest techniques. So if you ever wanted a visual reference to go back to at home, or wanted to study in your own time, this is a must have copy for anyone. I only have 10 limited copy this time, so let me know if you want one. Each copy is £20 and all the money will be raised for ASI charity fund.
JUNIOR SAMURAI SUMMER CAMP 2018 :Registration started (Only 2 Spaces left!)
This year is the famous Samurai Summer Camp’s 7th annual adventure is back and registration has started already! This is one of our biggest events of the year as we take up to 25 juniors to the Derbyshire woods for a host of activities, games, and team-building activities! We have 2 more new exciting activities with Spear training and Sword and Shield training added to the already exciting event from last year. This years camp will be from 17th – 19th August and you can start registering already by talking to us! More information and details will be released closer to the dates in question, but don’t hesitate to ask any questions or to ask other juniors of their experiences on the camp!
Adults, do not worry, you can get involved too as we are always looking for volunteers to help with the camp and it means you can get involved in some of the activities too!
