Shoshinkan is an established dojo based in Nottingham founded by Andy Hobday Sensei in May 2005. It was formally recognised by Honbu (Head) Dojo, Japan in July 2008 and is a member of the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation.

Under the technical direction of Joe Thambu Shihan (7th Dan, Yoshinkan Aikido) Andy's aim is to provide an open and positive environment in which to practise Yoshinkan Aikido, respecting the traditions and origins of this Japanese martial art.

We have a real mix of students from complete beginners to the more experienced. Male and female students of all ages train with us and new members are always welcome.

Students regularly attend national and international seminars and have had the opportunity to receive tuition from some of the most senior Yoshinkan Aikido instructors in the world.
