I'm interested, what now?

We would recommend that you arrange to come along and watch a class and meet us in
person to ask any questions you may have.

However, if you just want to get stuck in, you can arrange to come and have a free no obligation, one on one lesson to give Aikido a try.

When can I train?

  • Beginners classes are run every Tuesday at 19:00 in Lees Brook Community College, Derby and every Thursday at 18:30 in Games Workshop, Nottingham. You may attend any of these sessions without a prior booking.
  • From the 16th September, classes will also start to run every Thursday from 19:00 - 20:00 in Brookside Studio, Syston
  • Alternatively, Shoshinkan runs classes 6 days a week, you may book a one-to-one session for a particular evening - view the classes page for Dojo availability.

What does it cost?

  • Each one-to-one session costs just £5.
  • Each beginners class costs £5, or you can book 8 classes for £30 (saving £10).
  • Take advantage of our Beginners Package, which includes: 3 months of unlimited training, your first grading and your first Dogi for only £100, saving you £60

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in… preferably some loose clothing (track suit, karate gi etc). For the safety and comfort of both you and the other people in the Dojo, please make sure that there is nothing sharp in your pockets, that you are not wearing a belt and that you remove jewellery, watches etc before you step onto the mat.
